Two Sixers players (Sammy Dalembert and Willie Green) will participate with Al Horford (Hawks) and Eduardo Najera (Nets) in the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program in Mexico City this August.  Any chance we can leave Dalembert there?  That might be one way to get his $23 million plus off the books for the next two years.

In the same program (Basketball Without Borders), former Sixer Dikembe Motumbo will head to China with Yao Ming (Rockets) and Jason Terry (Mavs).

The Raptors hired former Sixer Marc Iavaroni, who was 13-26 as Memphis coach this year before being fired, to be an assistant under Jay Triano.

Today the Sixers worked out five prospects – Florida State’s Toney Douglas, UTEP’s Stefon Jackson, UNC’s Ty Lawson, Kentucky’s Jodie Meeks and Louisville’s Terrence Williams.  See video from the workout here.

New coach Eddie Jordan expects Elton Brand to “flourish in his Princeton offense.”  Last year, the 76ers’ offense struggled when catering to Brand’s style when he was (sort of) healthy.  And Brand even struggled with a career low in scoring (13.8 ppg).  But the question will be (again) – how much will the rest of the offense suffer for Brand to “flourish?”
