Sixers “honoring a long-standing commitment”?

The Philadelphia 76ers are bringing in Ohio State center B.J. Mullens for a workout this morning. In addition to Mullens, Notre Dame’s Ryan Ayers, son of ex-Sixer coach Randy Ayers, will be his workout partner.
If you are excited about what the tea leaves might say about Mullens’ workout, i.e., the Sixers may actually move Sammy Dalembert, Phil Jasner of the Philadelphia Daily News succintly writes, “Don’t.”
Per one of his sources, Jasner writes, “the Sixers’ [are] honoring a long-standing commitment.” Additionally, the source tells Jasner that the Sixers are going to take a PG or SG with the 17th pick, as most expect.
I would be very surprised if the Sixers don’t draft a PG – UNC’s Ty Lawson, VCU’s Eric Maynor or Wake’s Jeff Teague – even if Mullens is on the board at 17.
