Andre Miller talks to progress slowly

Early in free agency, the Sixers have three options with point guard Andre Miller – sign him, sign and trade him or don’t sign him.
According to a source of Phil Jasner from the Philadelphia Daily News, the talks between the Sixers and [Andre] Miller’s agent Andy Miller won’t progress quickly.
The Miller camp is looking for a deal in the three-to-four-year range at a salary similar to what Miller earned last year ($10.3 million). On the other hand, Sixers GM Ed Stefanski would prefer to give one or two years to Miller, who’s 33 years old and a defensive liability.
Jasner also points out that the speculation surrounding a sign-and-trade sending Miller to Portland for Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw has “no legs.”
Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard texted “no” when asked about the possibility of such a deal, according to Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune.
And Andre Iguodala, who sometimes thinks he’s GM, offered his opinion on the matter yesterday.
“They’re doing the right thing, talking to him,” Iguodala said yesterday after serving as a guest speaker at the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation’s summer camp in Northeast Philly. “It’s a tough situation. I’ve told him many times – we’d be on the court, someone would be shooting a free throw – and I’d be, like, ‘ ‘Dre, are you coming back next year?’ And he’d laugh. He knows we want him back . . . Many a game, we’d be walking down the court and I’d tell him, ‘We’ve got to have you back, we’ve got to have you back.’ And he’d start laughing.”
“Things would change [without him],” Iguodala said. “But I think coach Jordan, with his offense, we’ll find a way. I think I would bring the ball up a little more, kind of like a two-guard set. We need [Andre]. Hopefully, it will work out.”

I would love to see Andre Miller in a Sixers uniform next season (or, even the next two seasons). However, if he’s getting $10+ million per, I would prefer not to see Miller in a Sixers uniform in the 2011-12 season.
