If only the Sixers could play 82 games…
October 8th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |If only the Sixers could play 82 (regular-season) games against the Toronto Raptors minus Chris Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu, they would be one of the top teams in the East. After back-to-back games in Canada, the Sixers are 2-0 in the pre-season.
In Tuesday’s game, the team and every starter shot 50% (or better) from the field. In Wednesday’s game, the team shot only 37% from the field, but they converted on 26 of 28 free throws.
In both games combined, Elton Brand played a total of 43 1/2 minutes, scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (five offensive boards). He’s a little rusty, but he’s feeling good health-wise.
“Back-to-back games, no setbacks, so that’s always a positive,’ Brand said. “You see guys on the Raptors resting because of their hamstrings and other injuries. It’s good to feel good, even this early in the season.”
In both games, Andre Iguodala led the team in assists and I expect that to happen in the majority of Sixers’ games. From a fantasy perspective, it’s going to be a big year for AI2.
The Sixers next pre-season game is Friday at home against the Nets.
