Speights out 6-8 weeks with MCL tear
November 15th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |It just went from bad to worse for the Sixers.
Through ten games, the Sixers are 4-6 but they have looked unimpressive in their wins. Three of those wins were against the Nets and Knicks, who have a combined record of 1-19. The Knicks took the Sixers to overtime while the Sixers beat the winless Nets by three points in both games.

Now they are going to be without forward Marreese Speights for up to eight weeks after he suffered a partial tear of his MCL last night in the loss to Chicago.
Speights was earning himself more minutes (at the expense of Elton Brand) with his exceptional play. In the four games before last night’s game, Speights was averaging nearly 27 minutes per game.
On the season, Speights is shooting 60.5% and he ranks fourth on the team in scoring (13.0 points per game) and third in rebounding (6.4 rebounds per game).
The Sixers’ next game is Wednesday against Charlotte (3-6) and then they play Memphis (2-8) on Friday. After that, their schedule gets much more difficult.
Here are their final six games of the month: at Cleveland (7-3), at Washington (2-7), at Boston (8-3), vs Atlanta (8-2), at San Antonio (4-4) and at Dallas (6-3).
