Sixers extend losing streak to 12

December 12th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |

Before Allen Iverson played his first game (in his second stint) with the Sixers on Monday, the Sixers were on a nine-game losing streak.  Iverson has now played three games.  Question: What the difference for the Sixers before and after Iverson?  Answer: More people have seen the Sixers lose.

Don’t get me wrong.

It’s not Iverson’s fault that the Sixers are losing.  Hell, they’ve done it so well before Iverson.  But essentially the Sixers have gone from a bad team to a less-worse team.

With last night’s loss to Houston, the Sixers have now lost 12 straight games.  Iverson scored 12 points in the fourth quarter last night, but that wasn’t enough.

In Iverson’s three games, he is averaging 35:30 minutes, 14 points, four assists and 3.3 rebounds per game on 35.9 percent shooting.

I don’t think we’re mad enough,” said Andre Iguodala. “We’ve got to go out there and we’ve got to be angry. We’re trying to be positive, but there comes a point where we’ve got to get down to the nitty-gritty and find a way.”

The Sixers will have their next opportunity to end their losing skid against the Golden State Warriors, who are 7-15, on Monday.
