December 20th, 2009 | by Kevin Hanson |When the Sixers face the Wizards on Tuesday, Allen Iverson will miss his third straight game but could return on December 26th against Utah, according to Philly.com. Iverson has arthritis in his left knee (among other ailments). An AP report says that the soonest Iverson will return is the 28th against Portland.
Without A.I., the Sixers lost to the Clippers in overtime yesterday and beat the Celtics by one point on Friday. Meanwhile Lou Williams returned from his broken jaw last night and scored six points in 23 minutes.
And Marreese Speights, who came off the bench, had a career-high 28 points.
Kate Fagan of the Philadelphia Inquirer argues that rookie Jrue Holiday is the present and the future.
Andre Iguodala ranks among other shooting guards are as follows: sixth in scoring (19.4 ppg), first in rebounding (6.7), second in assists (5.6) and third in steals (2.17).
The Sixers are 24th in the ESPN’s Hollinger rankings.
With a 7-20 record, I suppose it’s not too soon to start talking about the 2010 NBA draft. DraftExpress.com has the Sixers taking Cole Aldrich, the Kansas center, with the fourth overall pick in their mock draft.
